Anonymous asked: neither is johnlock, or most popular cis-white male ships for that matter. i'm just wondering why you zeroed in on sterek when the problem is a much larger one.

Oh yes, wholeheartedly agreed. I’ve just been seeing loads of ‘we might get representation!1!!’ from Sterek lately.

No, you’re right. Sherlock/John is not queer representation. It’s a ship founded for many people on problematic things, and yes, probably in some ways for me as well.

But I haven’t seen too many people claiming incorrectly that Sherlock is progressive of late. If you have seen nonsense going around, apologies. I just wanted to address the crap currently on my dash.

Oh, and the other issue with Sterek—Teen Wolf already has an actual canonically gay and from what I’ve gathered, not necessarily accurate, perhaps, relatively positively portrayed character, Danny, who gets ignored in favor of Stiles/Derek.

Step forward off of anon and we can discuss further, if you’d like? Or y’know, on anon is okay, but I don’t want to clog everyone’s dash with gigantic answers  to these.
